Description

In this short course, learners can acquire the skills and knowledge required to start a career in aged care, disability care and/or home care. This course suits anyone who wants to acquire an introduction into the health care sector through a nursing assistant role without having to complete a nationally accredited full qualification.

Introduction to the Care Sector

  • Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
  • Provide First Aid
  • Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Provide basic emergency life support

Entry level positions within the Health Care Industry.

Upon Completion:

The following certification will be issued by a Registered Training Organisation:
  • Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for 4 units of competency
  • HLTINF006 Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Manual handling certificate of attendance
  • Assistant in Nursing certificate of attendance
  • 120 hours voluntary work placement in the health care industry will be made available. Please note that this is not a compulsory part of the program.

Career Pathway:

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to receive some credit towards a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support
