WorkSmart Healthcare Program

Essential Life-Saving Certifications

Build the skills that could save lives with nationally recognised training. These certifications are vital for anyone entering the healthcare sector or any role involving public safety and care.

You will:

  • Complete HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

  • Complete HLTAID009 – Provide CPR

  • Learn how to respond to emergencies with confidence and care

Practical, Hands-On Training

Gain real experience through engaging, scenario-based activities that simulate real-life healthcare emergencies. Training is led by qualified professionals in a supportive learning environment.

You will:

  • Practice CPR on manikins and learn to use an AED

  • Perform first aid techniques including bandaging, splinting, and wound care

  • Understand the correct procedures for asthma, anaphylaxis, and other common incidents

Pathways to Healthcare Careers

Start your journey toward a fulfilling career in healthcare or community support. These core skills are the foundation for further study or immediate employment in care-related roles.

You will:

  • Strengthen your resume with in-demand certifications

  • Gain knowledge aligned with industry expectations

  • Be better prepared for roles in aged care, disability support, childcare, and more

Program Overview

The WorkSmart Healthcare program provides everything you need to launch a career in the industry. Complete all mandatory licensing courses necessary for working in Australian venues, learn about Australian workplace culture, get familiar with industry-specific terminology, practice common interactions and scenarios, and improve communication skills with our specialised “English in the Workplace” training.

Then use everything you have learned for real, in an actual workplace! Get a unique opportunity to experience what it’s like to work in the Australian industry. There is even the chance of being offered a real job for those that perform well!

The duration of this program is 6 weeks.

  • 4 weeks of training (in-class attendance 3 days per week, plus assessments and other work to be completed outside of class)
  • 2 weeks’ workplace experience (includes time for applying and interviewing for jobs; time spent in actual workplace may vary, minimum one week)

There are no entry requirements for the qualification, however, you must have: 

  • USI (Unique Student Identifier) number 
  • A valid and current email address
  • Completed a LLN assessment (Language, Literacy & Numeracy test) 
  • Have access to a reliable PC, laptop or tablet computer
  • Access to a reliable internet connection and word processing software such as Microsoft Office suite. 

Fee-for-service: $1,500

WorkSmart Programs are flexible, and delivery is designed to allow offshore learners to begin their program before arriving in Australia. The training is delivered live, in a virtual classroom, using videoconferencing platforms (e.g. Zoom); this allows the same benefits and interactions with the trainer as a face-to-face class.

All learners will receive a nationally recognised AQF Statement of Attainment for each NRT course completed, as well as Certificates of Competency for all other skills training units.

For those who perform well during their Workplace Experience placement, there is the opportunity for offers of employment; a chance to get a real job!
